What is Tapp

Tapp is a community that stands in solidarity to fight harassment and violence against women (a problem that has worsened more and more over the years). The community’s mission intends to concretely reduce, then eliminate violence against women through means of determination, technology, strategy, partnerships and alliances through community of strong solidarity, organized for maximum effectiveness.

Tapp app (latam) helps to make sure that the community of solidarity can:

fight harassment and violence against women, through organized action using the technological tools available
can count on being able to connect and organize with your nearby community of solidarity(and ask questions or comments among those near)

The year of 2023 will be an important one for the Tapp community and the mission to significantly reduce harassment and violence against women in each 'ready' region available in this year.

Regional Ambassadors and allies involved are focusing on goals of bringing down the number of cases from harrasment and other violence against women in their city by 25 to well over 50 percent, than that from 2022.

The app will very soon be available in many more cities of Latinamerica

Can other users see where I am too?

The only time someone can see a snapshot of your location is when you press the help button.
Can the engineers who help develop and maintain the Tapp servers and app see my location?

No. The only way ANYONE can see a snapshot of your location is if they press the 'help' button. If you have enabled everyone to be alerted, in an unfortunate moment when you have to press the help button, the system is built to only take a single snapshot of your location at that instant and it will reach ONLY the other members of the community who are physically located within your specific vicinity. For maximum security, the system architecture and general functionality of the app does not have the technological ability to allow anyone to view locations at any time other than when the user has pressed the button, and even then, it is only location capturing at that specific time and only to people physically located around them (and to your trusted contacts, if you have Tapp set up to do so). Supplemental notes: The core technology being from the United States, privacy laws are very strict. Also, they are very strict in the app store and play store especially on privacy issues and make every app very transparent that right on the app download page it explains what data any app collects, even Tapp, which you will notice right there indicates that it does not collect data. Social Standard's privacy policy is extremely strict and is clearly stated in Social Standard's general technology privacy policy which is enforced as a standard in exactly the same way for all the startups that Social Standard is technologically and otherwise supporting, which includes Tapp. (We also recommend that everyone read the terms of use rules that state community rules to abide by and respect. Can the app locate you day and night, no matter when someone is in need of help?

When someone from the supportive community is in trouble and presses the support button, the application has to know who to notify to tell everyone in the supportive community who is nearby at that moment. As technology is innovated to reduce harassment and violence against women, it is possible that it is at times of the day or sometimes at times of the night that someone in this supportive community is suddenly in need of urgent support and to ensure that everyone in the supportive community that at any given moment is in need of support, the application will know who to notify.
When will the app/tool be available in my region?

While we would like to be able to effectively make it available everywhere at the same time at this time, we have to choose which areas/cities to focus the technology team on to ensure that the app can technologically be used as intended in its entirety. To ensure this we had to first focus on making it technologically available in the areas/cities where the most harassment and violence against women has been reported. From there it will be added to the list of cities and areas that are proceeding and where the technology team will continue with the objectives of getting the tool ready for the next cities and areas on the list to start using in the most effective way possible. The method and strategy being used is specifically to begin to CONCRETELY reduce the daily cases of harassment and violence against women after only 1-2 weeks from the date the technology is declared ready to be introduced in each of the listed cities.
How is Tapp able to finance such operations for such a huge endeavor that the movement intends to accomplish?

After making the connection and securing partnership in common goals for creating impact in society on the issue of harassment and violence against women, Social Standard has openly and wholly helped with the resources needed to ‘fight this battle’. Tapp has been given access to help from every aspect including permanent technological and strategical advisors from the best minds that they have in order to help see the mission through, from reduction of harassment and violence against women to complete elimination of the problem cities to cities.
